Are Democrats Receiving Laundered Drug and Human Trafficking Money from Cartels?

Why are the Democrats blocking border security?

What motives would they have to allow unfettered border crossing from illegal aliens drug cartels and human traffickers?

I am beginning to wonder out loud if the Democrat party is benefiting from laundered cartel money, and with good reason.

Remember, FEC filings indicated Hillary Clinton laundered 84 million through the Democrats, and El Chapo – with a known history of bribery and money laundering – is worth billions.

The future of the Democrat Party

Several years ago while we were driving toward town one day, my wife and I encountered the squad cars, flashing red lights, and helmeted motorcycle offers of a police road block. The traffic was backed up far down the street so I rolled down my window and asked a bystander what was happening.

“President Obama just landed at the Pueblo Airport,” she said “and I guess his motorcade is driving this way because he’s going to eat lunch at Jorge’s.”

Jorge’s is a Mexican restaurant in the southeast part of Pueblo, called “Bessemer.” The restaurant is adjacent to Union Avenue. Union Avenue was a hot spot back in the ’20s and ’30s and it was also called “Little Chicago,” a nick-named coined because Al Capone often visited there.

My wife’s grandfather Angelo would brag that he got to ride in Capone’s limousine. In his day, Angelo was quite the man about town and reportedly an outstanding jitter-bugger.

I thought of this story after I read in the “Colorado Springs Gazette” of a sealed federal complaint filed publicly on February 22.

The Sinoloan Cartel is expert at laundering money by co-mingling drug money with money from simple businesses.

According to the article, El Chapo has been tied to alleged laundering schemes using Mexican Restaurants in Denver, Colorado Springs, and Pueblo. through unregistered wholesale distributer El Potosino Foods. (see “How Do Criminals Launder Money Through Restaurants?)

Pueblo and southern Colorado have a heavy influence of Mexican gangs, and Pueblo is reeling under the weight of crime and heroin addiction. According to the DEA, Mexican Cartels use a route from the border up through southern Colorado to Denver as a western hub for drug distribution.

Parenthetically, just this past year the Denver city council declared Denver a “Sanctuary City,” and passed ordinances threatening to punish any employee who provides information to ICE.

It’s alleged that El Potosino – which means “the one from San Luis Potosi, Mexico,” an area associated with drug cartels – is a front company used to funnel drug money through Mexican restaurants in both Colorado and Wyoming.

Authorities found at least $1.5 million from multiple bank accounts and safety deposit boxes of restaurants. The names of some of these restaurants so far include three Taco Stars, two Monica’s Taco Shops, Albertacos, and Rodolpho’s.

According to the Gazette, authorities believe that the woman accessing the safe-deposit boxes faked pregnancies to make those deposits, “carrying the cash inside of a false belly.”

Seriously , I’m not a conspiracy theorist and I’m certainly not making any accusations. But I was surprised to read that so many Mexican restaurants in Colorado were involved in laundering drug and human trafficking money.

But the combination of Democrats’ vehement resistance to securing the border to Mexican traffickers, the relentless money laundering through restaurants in Colorado by the Sinoloans, and the fact that the country’s top Democrat twice visited Mexican Restaurants when he visited Colorado now gives me pause for thought.

Coincidence?
